BRISTOL, Tenn. - Union College's Beau Brown was selected as an All-Appalachian Athletic Conference second team member the league announced Wednesday on the opening day of the AAC Tournament. Two more Bulldogs were also named to the conference's All-Academic team.

Brown, a junior and Athens, Tenn. native led Union with a 13.1 points per game average during the season. He had 21 double-digit scoring efforts this season with a high of 29 points coming at Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College. The 29 point contest was one of three times he scored 20 or more. Ten times this season he led Union in scoring.

He was the only Union player to start in all 28 games during the season and he tied for the team lead with 50 steals.

Brown shot 42.4 percent from the field this season which included a 29.3 3-point percentage.

He also grabbed 4.0 rebounds per game.

This marks the second straight season Union placed a player on the second team. Aaron Dunaway was the honoree last season.

Junior Brett Miller (Carrolton, Ky.) and sophomore Nathan Beckley (Clarksville, Ind.) were Union's representatives on the All-Academic team. This is the first time on the team for both.

Union, the four seed, opens the AAC Tournament Thursday with a 1:45 p.m. quarterfinal contest against Bryan (Tenn.) College, the five seed. The Bulldogs won both regular-season meetings with Bryan.
