LEXINGTON, Ky. - The honors keep coming in for Union College. The volleyball tandem of Stephanie Pateman and Monica Moreland received spots on the American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA All-Region team, the organization announced Thursday.

Pateman, a senior from Weyburn Canada was named to the All-Region squad while Moreland, a sophomore and Louisville, Ky., native was honorable mention.

Pateman was an All-Appalachian Athletic Conference first-team selection and added a spot on the All-Tournament and All-Academic teams as well. She wrapped up 2008 with a team-high 415 kills. Pateman also recorded 64 total blocks with 106 digs. She posted two matches during the season with 20 or more kills. Pateman holds the Union program record for career kills with 1,740.

Moreland, the AAC Setter of the Year and All-AAC first-team member finished the season with 1,192 assists and ranked second on the team with 413 digs. She served 33 aces during the season as well. In the AAC Tournament, she posted a career-high 63 assists against Bryan (Tenn.) College. It was also one of her 21 double-doubles during the season.

Union finished the regular season in third with a 14-4 conference record. The Lady Bulldogs made a run during the AAC Tournament only to fall short in the championship game where the season ended with a 25-12 record.
