BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - No. 11 Union College will make its first-ever postseason appearance Saturday as the Bulldogs take on host and No. 3 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in the opening round of the 2008 NAIA Football Championship Series.

Union is enjoying one of the program's best seasons ever with a 9-2 overall record and 5-1 Mid-South Conference East mark. The Bulldogs have been ranked for most of the season, being rated as high as No. 11 and as low as No. 21.

Saint Francis (10-0 overall, 6-0 Mid-States Football Association Mideast League) are now strangers to the postseason. Only in their 11th year of existence, the Cougars are making their 10th consecutive playoff appearance, which is the longest current streak in the NAIA. Saint Francis has advanced to the semifinal round in each of the last five seasons, making the championship game three years in a row from 2004-06.
