BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College senior Kyle Callahan reeled in Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after his nine-catch, two-touchdown performance in the No. 18 Bulldogs' 31-24 win, the league announced Monday.

The honor is a first for Callahan (Covington, Ky.), while the Bulldogs have earned a total of nine MSC Player of the Week honors this season. Callahan is the third different Bulldog to win the MSC Offensive Player of the Week award.

Union is 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-South Conference East.

In the seven-point win versus Campbellsville (Ky.) University, the 6-foot, 188-pound wide receiver hauled in a career-high nine receptions for a season-high 136 yards and two touchdowns, marking the sixth time of his career and the fourth time this season Callahan has scored two or more touchdowns in a game. His touchdown grabs went for 17 and 8 yards.

In addition to his receiving totals, he also completed a pass for 38 yards which turned out to be the longest pass play of the game.

On the season, Callahan has 40 receptions for 496 yards and a school-record 12 touchdowns. He is third player to record two 40-reception seasons in a career and is the second person to haul in 100 catches over a two-year span.

Callahan ranks fourth in program history in career receptions (116), fourth in receiving yards (1,585) and first in receiving touchdowns (22).

Union will play host to Belhaven (Miss.) College Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for its final regular-season game.
