KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College's Jonathan Shaw collected the NAIA Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award on Tuesday, the organization announced. He also became the first Bulldog in program history to win the award.

Shaw (Merseyside, England) posted back-to-back double-overtime shutouts against Montreat (N.C.) College. The first shutout of Montreat came in the regular-season finale Monday while the other was in an AAC Tournament quarterfinal contest Saturday. In Monday's contest, the sophomore recorded five saves and with 10 saves Saturday.

With the shutouts, it gave him five on the season and Union six as a team. It is also the second time this season Shaw has posted back-to-back shutouts.

He started the week with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor Monday. Shaw won the his first AAC Defensive Player of the Week award on Oct. 22.

Union fell to Montreat, 4-1, in a shootout Saturday which ended the Bulldogs' season. With the ties, Union posted a 10-5-4 record this season for the second straight 10-win season.
